About me and my journey

I'm Helen, Helen Motteram and from a young age I was completely obsessed with animals, particularly wildlife birds and dogs...

I also was quite the entrepreneur, from selling flower perfume to my mum and her friends (wow did it stink) to setting up my own nature club 'caring for nature'.

But there is one memory that was not so smile worthy and still haunts me today. It actually ended up fuelling my passion only further.

I was a young Helen Motteram at infant school and crossed over the forbidden red line in the playground to try and help a bird. For the rest of the day rather than be rewarded I was made to stand by the wall as others laughed and pointed at me!

I've always been one for not following the rules when it would mean compromising the welfare of my animal friends. Alongside this my want to create communities and support animals made me more dedicated to my mission.

My life has gone full circle where all my business ventures and work with animals, birds and humans have all aligned.

I'm now a multi-business owner and bird rescuer, ensuring that people and their companions don't get left behind. I also strive to give professionals the best support so they can help more animals.

Join me on my journey

From my journey with my best friend Russell Crow to my experiences and challenges as a business owner, I hope my musings can help you!

My little black bird passed suddenly in March 2024 and whilst it would of been so much easier to give it all up, he sent me so many messages to help me continue.

I'm absolutely thrilled to offer a variety of ventures all aimed at enriching the life of our feathered and fur friends, educate the public, support professionals and offer a safe community.

I offer public speaking, private training and consultations as Helen Motteram and am absolutely passionate about birds, in fact I could talk about them all day!
